Compassionate Schools

We have started our journey to becoming a Compassionate School, an initiative run by St Lukes Hospice. This is part of their outreach work towards making Plymouth (and the surrounding areas) a Compassionate place to live for those living with anticipatory grief, bereavement and loss. Two members of staff are now trained Compassionate Champions; to help provide day-to-day help and support to people experiencing grief or loss (this is not a replacement for counsellors and grief professionals). As a school we are working towards our school achieving Compassionate School status and will be looking at policies, the curriculum and further training opportunities.

Mrs Palmer and Mrs Jones are our trained leaders so feel free to contact them if you feel your child needs support due to family bereavement.
